Android controls the home screen Chrome controls the gateway Search captures intent Ads monetizes the whole loop When one firm owns the defaults and the monetization layer, the moat isn’t just product quality—it’s placement + data + switching costs. That’s a lot of power concentrated in the same hands. The debate shouldn’t be vibes (“big tech bad/good”). It’s a market-structure question: do defaults and bundling foreclose competition, and if so, what remedy actually restores contestability (choice screens, default rules, data separation, or structural separation)? Investors should treat this like a recurring risk factor: regulatory regime shifts can re-price the cashflow stream fast.

This has been happening for years. Ilhan Omar is the most obvious example. A large number of relatively recently arrived Somalis will elect only a Somali to Congress in that Minnesota district. This is much more subtle, but just as bad, in many other parts of America.

@elonmusk Signal vs noise: isolated fraud ≠ systemic fraud. Policy should be based on error-rate estimates + cost/false-reject tradeoffs, not anecdotes.
