Why would we name it after a guy who only completes 50% of his passes, choked in the playoffs, got his team moved to Indiana and is 1-1 against Jordan Love, only because our Best Player was out? Lol

The Packers have announced the new name of their stadium.

BREAKING: Jack Sanborn is returning to the #Bears on a one year deal.
The fan favorite and hometown kid returns to the city of Chicago, after a one year stint in Dallas.

@BillTZimmerman Salary goes up with cap mate. this is like your income going up alongside your cost of living and then going on a spending spree
English

So to summarize the Bears finances conversation over the last week...
Schefter's "broke" source was from the Bears org.
Kap's source says the Bears don't want to spend more this year because Darnell Wright needs an extension this year, Caleb and Rome next year, and Burden and Loveland the year after that.
The Kap source says Bears want to be smart so they can keep all their guys.
What no one wants to discuss is that the cap is going to go up $150 to $200m in the next 5 years. The cap currently is accelerating faster than player salaries.
So if the cap isn't an issue, and the Bears don't want to spend money in 2026 because of cash they need to spend in 2027 and 2028, that's decision is either by necessity or by choice.
We can argue tone, we can argue message, but everyone is actually coming to the same conclusion.

@MTGSecretLair Bro where my Roll for initiative order at
English

@AaronLemingNFL This has nothing to do with real money and everything to do with the salary cap

Talked about it a few days ago: Cap space & cash spending are two different things.
#Bears ownership does not have the cash flow most other NFL owners do.
With a Caleb Williams deal on the horizon & an expensive stadium, this shouldn’t come as a surprise.
Noah Phalen@Noahp245
Adam Schefter basically shut down any Maxx Crosby to the #Bears speculation on ESPN “The Bears don’t have the money to make a move like that right now. They cannot afford it” He called the idea of them finding a way to free up a bunch of money a “fantasy”

@TomPelissero The nfl should give the ravens first round pick to the bears for not compensating us for Ian Cunningham

@MatthewMKE98 Leave it to packers fans to trash their own players that they glazed before the last season started. Please enlight me on who you are replacing these players with and how they will be better
English

I’d be willing to almost guarantee that the Packers are better next year then they were this past year
We aren’t gonna miss a single dude he mentioned lol
We will be more than fine

Roster decay is very real in Green Bay. You can debate the quality of the players lost, but... Rashan Gary Elgton Jenkins Quay Walker Malik Willis Nate Hobbs Kingsley Enagbare Romeo Doubs Rasheed Walker Colby Wooden 2026 team probably won't be as talented as the 2025 team.
English

@MicahhParsons11 How they compare from an investment per $ and/or per draft pick standpoint.
English

@zachkruse2 I think theres a significant depth loss here. Things that were "good enough" last year are looking more like weak spots that the young guys need to step up to cover. More question marks heading into next year and less of a complete roster (which I think GB had last year)

The Chargers are signing TE Charlie Kolar to a three-year $24.3 million contract that makes him the NFL’s highest-paid blocking tight end, sources tell The Insiders.
@SteveCaric of @WassermanNFL negotiated the deal, which includes $17M guaranteed.
