Meanwhile in Florida, a woman, unable to get an abortion due to DeSantis’ deadly anti-abortion laws had to carry to term a baby that was found to have no kidneys at 24 weeks. I’ll say that part again, no kidneys and was forced to carry the baby for an additional 13 weeks until she gave birth. Deborah Dorbert’s son Milo died in her arms on March 3, shortly after birth just like the doctors said would happen. Forced to carry, knowing there was no chance of survival. Then watching a baby gasp for air and die. What part of that scenario is pro-life? The walking around for 13 weeks knowing your baby is going to die? Oh wait, is it the part where the baby took one breath and died? DeSantis chases woke while real-life consequences are happening “death on delivery.” That’s not governing it’s torture. #FreshWords
Yesterday, I took mifepristone and today I will take misprostol for a missed abortion for a very wanted and very planned pregnancy. The combination has about an 85% success rate and will hopefully allow me to avoid an invasive procedure. I am really sad, and I am feeling the loss
Wound care/dressing changes are one of the most painful parts of recovering from a severe burn, so any distraction, especially for pediatric patients, is welcome. We teamed up with a @UTSWNews med student & @cristoreydallas to turn a wound care room into an underwater wonderland.
This is my dear friend, Nakita. Nakita and I were medical school classmates and both interns in New York City. Nakita tragically took her own life on May 26. She is such a beautiful soul. She was so fun to be around. She was intelligent, charismatic, and confident. (1/x)
