growing up, my parents were convinced that I was possessed by demons for these simple reasons: 1. I broke our TV twice! 2. I woke up one day and used scissors to cut open the back of every sofa we owned in our house. 3. I broke our glass cabinet with expensive plates in it because our maid tried to caution me from playing football with my friends in our very big parlour! 4. I broke both legs twice from playing football; two in Command Children School, one at a mechanic garage and the other at the field opposite our house. then there were small small dislocations here and there. but hey, I never broke my hands more than once so that’s something to celebrate! 🤭 5. in primary 5, I climbed our double fridge playing only to come down with a very deep fan blade cut that made them rush me straight into surgery! the fan cut my head 😭😭😭! 6. all together I have been stitched 5 times in this life: my lips, my head, two of my hands and very close to my eyes. 7. I pushed a very big water drum that fell on me, people thought I had died! only to wake up running! 8. I went to the bush one day to hide and pluck mangoes, bath with tap water so long so my parents can declare me missing and get into a hunt to rescue me. I was missing for over 7 hours. they indeed came to search for me. I was in primary 4. I have the mark I got from the beating till today on my arm. 9. I rented two old people in talata market, kaduna to come pose as my parents in command because of something I did in school that warranted me to call my parents! my own parents found out and I nearly died that day. that was the first of many times I witnessed a co-joined parental beating! 10. I convinced a mechanic that I was an orphan and I needed to learn how to make money for myself and he believed. his name is Emeka. I already started the mechanic work until fate brought my dad to that Kawo garage with his one day and he caught me in very dirty mechanic clothes and that was when the secret came out. He couldn’t believe his own eyes but I won’t say what my eyes saw that day but I will stop here! 🙈 Mind you, I was the only child of my parents and they love me like their lives. Don’t you think they overreacted? I was just a boy 🙈🤭🙈😂! Let me know your thoughts!

The world’s most populous black nation on earth yet we are unable to win 1 medal out of 329 medal events. What kind of disappointing nonsense is this? Nobody will get sacked. Nobody will get queried for this. Nobody will be summoned to explain. Nobody will be made to resign from this shame. We will all just move on like everything is fine. The acceptance of mediocrity and the culture of being a global disgrace is terribly worrying. The population of St Lucia is less than 200,000. One local government in Kano or Lagos has far more people than St Lucia. Yet St Lucia has just produced the Olympic female gold medalist in 100m and silver gold medalist in 200m women. What is really going on in Nigeria? How can a country of less than 200,000 people win two medals so easily but a country of 200million people go to a competition where 329 medal events are happening, and we cannot win even 1 medal? We are not investing in sports. We are not investing in healthcare. We are not investing in education. We are not investing in technology. We are not investing in anything. So what are we doing exactly? These locusts in Abuja just sit down to steal, destroy and wreck the nation’s commonwealth on a daily basis. Few weeks ago, a real estate company in Lagos state reached out to me to speak to Nigerians in diaspora about buying houses in Lagos. From UK to Canada, they all asked me just one simple question.
