Apparently ASML DUV machines that China has to make their chips recently broke down. They called the Dutch company for help repairing it. ASML sent some techs. They discovered that the Chinese broke the machine when they disassembled it and tried to put it back together. 1/

This has been one of the best earnings seasons in years: ~63% of the S&P 500 companies have beat earnings expectations by at least 1 standard deviation, the highest percentage in 4 years. Excluding the post-pandemic recovery, this marks the best quarter in at least 25 years. By comparison, the long-term average has been 48%. At the same time, just 10% of firms have missed estimates by at least 1 standard deviation, the lowest share in a year and below the long-term average of 13%. Earnings momentum is exceptionally strong.

Found myself getting upset at an Adrian Gore (Billionaire Discovery founder) post on LinkedIn. He was reporting on the meeting that business leaders had with Cyril Ramaphosa & the way forward. Most of the same nonsense of job creation, private-public partnerships, etc. More committees!!! And there were so many ppl in the comments applauding him & the other business leaders present. It's not just poor black masses who are ignorant in this country... many corporate employees, including execs are stupid & complicit. No one in big business wants to confess that they fund Cyril Ramaphosa & the ANC. None of them will come out & state that they've profited from Covid lockdown & vaccines, Eskom loadshedding, corrupt/broken SOEs, etc. This is why I keep insisting that the politicians & big business are the thugs running this country... and the rest of us are just victims. Until aboAdrian Gore, Stephen Saad, Brian Joffe, Glencore execs, etc. grow some balls & confess to funding our useless politicians & confess to raking in huge profits with the destruction in SA... they are no different to the politicians you've been made to hate.
