@bfredmuggs After learning about the budget and timelines DIC shows had, I believe what ended coming out and onto our TVs, are the results of hard-working, talented people doing their best and a slight miracle. Thanks for giving it your all.

This is crazy!! We produced the original during my time at DIC. Quality was challenged even then, but we did the best with what we had time and budget wise. Hard to believe you could actually make it worse??

@ToonHive Did they watch the results of the restoration? The "suple" logo comes up only a few seconds in every episode. It feels like that's an easy way to know that it's not fit for distribution. At least they're fixing it. They likely lost the masters too, so it can't be remastered.

WildBrain responds to backlash over AI-upscaled episodes of The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! airing on MeTV. The company says it uses “human-led, AI-assisted” restoration to enhance resolution and color, but admits some distortions can occur due to limited original materials.

@Pirat_Nation This is excellent news for indie devs. This attempt creates a slippery slope for basic game mechanics patents. Devs shouldn't have to walk on eggshells to avoid something like a "platformer jumping mechanic patent".

The US Patent Office has revoked Nintendo's 2025 patent on summoning characters to battle on the player's behalf, either automatically or manually. This is the same patent cited in Nintendo's legal action against Palworld. Nintendo has two months to appeal the decision. Does not automatically end the Palworld lawsuit, but weakens Nintendo's position on this mechanic.

A Stanford study found that people who played Pokémon heavily as kids developed a small region of the brain that responds specifically to Pokémon characters. Researchers scanned adults who grew up playing on Game Boy and showed them images of Pokémon like Pikachu and Bulbasaur. Their brains lit up in the same exact spot, a consistent area in the visual cortex tied to recognizing specific categories of objects. The reason comes down to childhood. When you’re young, your brain is more flexible, and spending hours memorizing hundreds of similar-looking Pokémon essentially trained it to carve out space just for them. (via @Stanford)

I think I know why I've been more anxious lately: my birthday's in a few days, and it's a big one. Been questioning the world, and myself, but logically, I know I'm in a good position. I'll stick to my guns and thrive with what I believe, make every moment count.

@pk4eva1 Ya, I know that logically. It just happened so much I felt I needed to speak up. But they're set in their ways, so talking to them accomplishes nothing. Best i can do is stand with creatives with ambition to make something great.

@Koolboyman Let's keep in mind most of the posts shared here come from a minority that simply burns money to be on top, without putting the talent or effort as real artists. Thankfully people are becoming more aware at what's slop and what's not.

I've been doing too much arguing on this app lately. Mostly with AI discourse. I need to stop, I didn't come here to make enemies, I'm just seeing those kinds of people more frequently. It's time wasting, and I have my own shit to work on.

@TrainerX493 Yeah, you're right. Maybe I should spend more time promoting people and projects I like, vs arguing questionable people. I can't stand fake and manipulative people, and it kinda broke me this week. I shouldve already known better.

@Koolboyman Replying only to things you like and avoiding talking with stuff you disagree with goes a long way for a positive mood. Doublely so if you make use of the "show less" option on tweets.

@Koolboyman @trikcode This is like asking someone what good code is. Good prompts give the context required, set the constraints for the request and give the model tools to validate its work. Most engineers I see prompting are writing lazy ineffective prompts.

AI writes your code in 30 seconds. You spend 3 hours debugging what it wrote. You could have written it yourself in 45 minutes. But that would require thinking and we don't do that anymore apparently.

@elonmusk "Content", not quality works. Quantity over quality is all that AI promoters care about because the algorithm rewards frequency vs. time spent. There is no ambition to make anything worthwhile, just flood until the algorithm allows you to make rent.

@themoderateman9 @mattxiv Im referring to the people involved with this. While not all billionaires hoard their wealth and only seek to make more by any means necessary, its a large portion of them. Plus these guys aren't simply billionaires. They all have a net worth over $100 billion. Top 0.0000001%

@Koolboyman @mattxiv Well like with everything else some are good some are bad. Some billionaires do want to hoard wealth. Some donate to charity. Some leave it behind for family. Being a billionaire doesn’t determine your morals.
