@XorDev In order to sleep, you have to NEED a sleep or take medications for it, as it is a passive action, and for eating you don't need to be hungry, just eat, as it is an active action - and can actually save some money Easy choice imo

#GameMaker tip! You can easily overlay a sprite on top of another without using any surfaces or blend modes - just by using stencil buffer functions! Here's an example of a shine/reflection effect (like the ones used in Forager) applied to some fruits!

@foxyofjungle @_NoNexD Pra sprites com transparência, seja pixel art ou HD, dá pra controlar o limiar em que o stencil vai considerar se é ou não um pixel válido usando a gpu_set_alphatestref([0-255]). Se quer o efeito com transparência, tem que ser surface mesmo

@_NoNexD Só um adendo: se o sprite tiver transparência (tipo em artes que não seja pixel-art), o stencil vai cortar abruptamente (já que ele faz operação booleana), o que torna as surfaces ainda necessárias. Mas pra pixel-art, é legal mesmo esse método

@MentalStudioGms If that is a big concern for you, a shader based approach with a dedicated object for global drawing, aka with(all) draw_self() can practically eliminate those extra batch breaks :)

@MentalStudioGms That scared me at first, but after some tests I had concluded that this method is far less expensive than a surface based approach, as it doesn't cause a texture swap; only two batch breaks per draw call, which from my results was barely noticeable in performance
