Itโs not so simple as โAir Canada is a private companyโ
It was privatised with conditions. One of those is to operate FULLY in BOTH official languages.
Shareholders bought their shares knowing those conditions.
The CEO has breached those conditions.

@spicy1812 Air Canada is legally required to be a bilingual company through the Official Languages Act, and even then the Quebecois do see things like this as an insult and being treated as secondary given they're the only French speaking province, hence why it's different to south India

@Kscithe13th Huh? If an Indian airline had a deadly crash in the South, Indians would not get up in arms if the CEO didn't offer condolences in Telugu, even if the CEO or Airline was based there.

This is fucking bonkers. The Canadian Parliament is summoning an Airline CEO, not because of a plane crash, but because his condolences were spoken in English with French subtitles.
