To give an idea, I previewed and finished : 1 RP (grossed by me yesterday), 1 partial nephrectomy (grossed by me yesterday), 1 kidney biopsy, 1 bladder biopsy, and 5 cases with 12 prostate cores.

As a PGY3 resident, I deal with a case as if I am signing it out on my own. The staff then checks my dictation and synoptic and suggests changes during the sign-out. Also, they send the case back to my box after sign-out. @CCFPathRes

Signout today starts at 11! Prior to signout, residents dictate the cases, fill out synoptics, and map the radical prostatectomies. During signout, staff review all aspects of the case. When all is done, the case goes back to resident’s box to review the final! @FrozenSections

Today we will follow a one-day subspecialty cycle at the Cleveland Clinic. It means that the residents rotate through different subspecialties in surgical pathology, preview early morning, sign-out during the late morning, and gross in the afternoon everyday.
