You can’t determine whether it’s a soft push or not. Only the player who got hands behind can tell if that push was a firm push made to look soft with technique. The rules are clear; you have two hands on the back of a player causing him to stumble over and giving you advantage to head the ball is a foul. You can spin narratives because it’s Arsenal and every other fans and pundits want them to lose the EPL to City but the truth remains that it was the correct call nothing more.
