As for Arteta, people conveniently forget the state Arsenal were in when he arrived. The club was drifting, had no clear identity, and wasn’t even competing for the Champions League. In just a few years, he rebuilt the squad, transformed Arsenal into genuine title contenders, brought them back to the Champions League, and created one of Europe’s strongest young teams. Rebuilding a fallen giant is a different challenge from inheriting an already dominant squad.

His influence on the modern game goes far beyond his trophy count.
