🧵 New preprint out! We built the largest cross-species pollen atlas to date, spanning 90 plant species and ~17,000 RNA-seq samples, to ask: what genes are universally required for pollen formation and function?organ. 1/n biorxiv.org/content/10.648…

📦 All data — expression matrices, SPM scores, co-expression networks — are publicly available. A resource for anyone working on plant reproduction or engineering pollen as a biomaterial! 8/n

🧫 We validated 20 candidate genes in Arabidopsis loss-of-function mutants. Many showed reduced pollen size or shorter pollen tubes — confirming our pipeline prioritizes functionally relevant genes. 7/n
