It has been much longer than I ever dreamed, yet it feels so short that I'd live it all over again. With only three days left until the 'last dance', so many emotions, people, and memories come to my mind, and all I can do is sum them up in one huge THANK YOU. My heartfelt gratitude goes out to everyone who crossed my path, the greatest treasure of this profession. I carry a piece of each of you with me, and I won't forget that you've all helped me experience this genuine privilege of a career as a footballer. I'm proud and at peace with every moment I've experienced, the tough ones because they taught me, and the good ones because they've made me extraordinarily happy. I thank God for blessing me with a family who is responsible for every good thing that's happened to me; even a lifetime wouldn't be enough to repay them. See you soon. Ha sido mucho más largo de lo que soñé y se me ha hecho tan corto que volvería a vivirlo. A solo tres días del ‘último baile’, acuden a mi mente tantas emociones, personas y vivencias que solo acierto a resumir con un inmenso GRACIAS. Mi agradecimiento de corazón a toda esa gente que se ha cruzado en mi camino, el mayor patrimonio de esta profesión, de todos llevo un trocito y no se me olvida que me han ayudado a vivir este auténtico privilegio de carrera como futbolista. Me siento orgulloso y tranquilo de cada momento vivido; los malos porque me enseñaron, los buenos porque me han hecho un tipo extraordinariamente feliz. @Alleycat17 @BlueJays I’m so sorry April. It’s heart breaking. All you can do is be there for him. Remember when my dad stopped talking. Every now and then he’d take hold of my hand and kiss me. It got me every time 💔

Today was the first day my dad (who has Alzheimer’s) didn’t know mom or I. I’m very sad. But I had an awesome moment last week where Charlotte & I were caught in the back of a @BlueJays segment & dad loved it. If that’s the last thing we bond over that he reacts to, I’m happy.

@Alleycat17 Big hugs. It’s a horrible disease. Remember bringing my dad his favourite chocolate and him saying “my youngest daughter brings me this chocolate too” 😪

My first Father’s Day where Dad didn’t really know who I was. Alzheimer’s is the worst. Hug your daddy’s tight and always let them know how much you love them. They may forget it but you never will. Love you Daddy. And Happy Father’s Day to all the incredible Dad’s out there.
