@NuNu7194 @emilykmay Two of my dad's aunts worked in a steel mill during WW2.

Women did enter the workforce in large numbers during WWII, but to say they kept critical infrastructure going is feminist garbage. They did jobs like factory work, assembly lines, driving trucks, and running machinery. But that’s not really heavy lifting. Children could do a lot of that. The real back-breaking work like coal mining (literally powering the war), logging oil fields and refineries, heavy construction and steel mills, and railroad maintenance was still done by men. Many men were deferred from the draft specifically to keep this critical infrastructure going.Women helped where they could, but biology and reality didn’t magically change for a few years. Pretending they carried the backbone of the war effort is revisionist nonsense and absurd.

@seraphel_ @graceyldn I do this, and if they persist, I tell them I'm not going to donate, and don't want to waste their time reading me their script.

@graceyldn Its honestly better to just ignore all social instincts and leave without speaking to them, I promise its kinder than wasting their time listening to their script if you can't/won't donate.

@RichardHanania I'm a heterosexual man who is attracted to adult human women. What other forms of heterosexual attraction are there?
English

elderly man: I love my wife
Richard Hanania: This is offensive to pedophiles, for whom I have deep sympathy

The New York Times pushing the only form of attraction heterosexual men are allowed to have anymore.

@JulianMalins @KeruboSk This reminds me of the thing about figuring out how many handshakes one is from Hitler.

I am 75. All my grandparents were born in the 19th century and I conversed with all of them. Better than that, I shook hands with an old man (the Latin teacher at my first boarding school) in around 1958/9 whose grandfather (with whom the teacher had shaken hands as a little boy) had shaken hands with Napoleon. It was something of a craze among little boys in the 1950’s to seek out old men: ask them who had been the most famous person with whom they had ever shaken hands and (assuming there was somebody worthy) then shake hands with them to add to your collection. More fun than train spotting and more practicable than autograph hunting.

@DrSarahAxelrath I'm Gen X and own one, but I only use the black and white cartridge, and have the default set to print in draft mode to save ink.

@Charlygotyou I don't know that it's a hyper fixation thing for me. It's more that once I come up with an idea of something that tastes good, it's just easier to stick with it for awhile rather than working to come up with a different idea.

@omgsidewalks Simple. Find some men that have survived a similar rock bottom. They will tell you exactly how they made it out. Do the things they did. I am a two time rock bottom survivor, I survived by doing this exactly both times. Don’t quit.

My grandmother had her cleaning lady for decades. As my grandmother aged the cleaning lady stopped cleaning & started sitting with her, as they drank coffee and ate pastries, and chatted for 3 hours. My dad was upset because her house wasn't getting cleaned.
My mom said it was the best money they could've spent because it made my grandma so happy each week.
