I’m hyped to play as Tifa & the others, but this “Tifa becomes the main lead” has been a thing I’ve seen a lot with people who never played OG & just regurgitate what they hear. You have to really elongate your time doing sidequests to make the most of her before Cid takes over.

@Laylalooe And that’s fair I can’t find it or 8 scary personally, Ethan being a player insert with very little reaction of the horror makes it harder for the game to sell itself as scary to me — He doesn’t seem scared outside of cussing every 20-30 minutes… why should I be?

Sorry if its long thread, but I need to express how I feel, because as Aerith fan, I feel little sad 🥺🥹😔 Is it fair that Aerith went on the journey with Cid and Vincent in the original game, but now she’s completely absent just because the mystery of whether she dies or not is being used as bait to generate interest and get people talking about the game? When I watched the promotional trailer, it didn’t seem like anyone was affected by Aerith’s absence except Cloud (and even his reaction might now depend on the player’s choices). I don’t want to be negative, but it looks to me like Aerith won’t have a strong presence in the final part of the game. She might just appear at the end to save the planet, and I don’t want that for her. I want her long suffering to have real meaning, for her absence to have meaning, and for her to have a strong presence as a heroine in the game itself, not just on the cover. I’m tired of her being used as a tool to spark questions and theories. I want Aerith to be present in the third part as a playable character and a full member of the party.

One no, two absolutely. There is enough filler in Remake alone that could have cut its runtime in half and have it merged with Rebirth (we did NOT need to go to the sewers TWICE).

I love FF7 but have never felt even the slightest urge to play any of the spin off games. Idk why but I just don't care. The concept of Remake also turns me off because I can't imagine enjoying the Midgar portion being stretched out across 30 hours?? No clue if i'm missing out
