I was 13 years old back in back in 1987 when that great Hawkeye hoops squad made the Elite 8. But THIS TEAM has me feeling like a kid all over again! 🖤💛🖤💛

@ThorBachie @Nute7 In a three game stretch that January, they beat #8 Illinois (road game), #5 Purdue (road game) and #3 Indiana (at home). Just an insane stretch of basketball. They were #1 in the nation after the Illinois victory! 🖤💛

Just got off phone with Jeff Moe, guard for 1987 Iowa basketball team. He literally today just closed on buying the Whistle Stop Inn bar in downtown Indianapolis, across street from Lucas Oil Stadium. If Iowa gets to Final Four, "this place will be Hawkeye Central" next week.

Ben McCollum will be talked about when blue blood opportunities become open. He was just on Pat McAfee’s show and was asked about the Curt Cignetti comparisons. He complimented him a few times but also said: I’m more of a Kirk Ferentz fan. I’d rather be compared to him. No offense to Cignetti, he’s obviously a fantastic coach” Kirk Ferentz has been at Iowa since the 1999 season.
