@PandaStaubball @RailroadRaccoon You're never going to have true HSR in this country. This will be mostly on FRA Class IV track that allows 79 mph passenger operation. Some areas (hopefully the @BNSFRailway Staples Sub mainline) could get upgraded to Class V for 90 mph.

@RailroadRaccoon This looks pretty good. I would add a couple extra Madison-Chicago trips, add a Green Bay route running via Sheboygan, if we can rebuild the route. I would also extend a few Green Bay trips to Marquette, MI and a few Minneapolis trips to Fargo or Grand Forks, ND.

Madison is close enough to Colombus that folks can travel there easily. Not saying a train to Madison isn't needed, but I don't think it should go to Portage. What we REALLY need is a commuter service between Milwaukee and Madison. Stops would include: Brookfield Pewaukee Oconomowoc Watertown Sun Prairie
