@DanFriedman81 I know 3 people who have been hit by these bikers (all going the wrong way.) It's a disaster (they dont speak English, uninsured, etc.) -- this decision can only be understood as a means to protect illegals.

Zohran Mamdani has ended an Eric Adams policy of criminally charging people who drive mopeds on sidewalks and ride them the wrong way on one way streets. He is doing this to protect illegal immigrants, who come to this country from places where there are no traffic laws to work illegally as food delivery workers. These people recreate the conditions of their third-world homelands and injure or kill pedestrians. Trump should send ICE to NYC to round them up.

@SPFCCMT I've never once seen an illegal alien delivery bicyclist obey the traffic rules.

@LionBlogosphere Everyone else was there for stuff like vandalism, public urination, public consumption, and minor drug offenses. The city had the genius idea that bike traffic violations should be treated as crimes and not traffic violations. They even had a public defender there to help me.

Delivery bicyclists (probably most of them ILLEGAL aliens) have been a MENACE to New Yorkers since de Blasio, and now even worse with e-bikes. But the only time I ever saw a bicyclist get a ticket, the recpient was a middle-aged upper-middle-class white woman.

She's a fundie Christian so there's always a low key proselytizing vibe in the air. She acts like my Padre Pio medal on my necklace is a concerning sin (fundies eschew saints as idolatry). She "moves it out of the way" with a stern and saddened demeanor when working on my neck.

Turns out it means "I'm not kidding you." They also pronounce foreigner foe-runnah (I get asked a lot if I'm a foe runnah.)

When you hear someone speaking with a strong New York City accent, it's almost always an older person and not a teenager. At least that's true for white people. Black people in NYC continue to speak with a NYC Ebonics dialect that doesn't sound anything like normal white English.
