@Squirrel4peanut @PezD_Spencer @novakspector The first half of season 1 of SG-1 was pretty weak, but TNG started out horrifically bad in comparison.
English

@PezD_Spencer @LionBlogosphere @novakspector It got great in Season 3. And the first season episodes weren’t as bad as STTNG first seasons.

@SidKhurana3607 Arlington, VA, where I once lived, is the county with the highest educational attainment in the nation.
And it seemed like a pretty normal place, but without any bad neighborhoods.
English

@jonbrooks They only thing I get out of this is that homes in 55+ communities might be bad investments.
Outside of those communities, big nothingburger.
English

@DanteJeffe14617 It's vernacular for genetic SNP patterns correlated with lower intellectual abilities.
English

@LionBlogosphere What are the high IQ genes specifically and when did you get tested to demonstrate you have them?
English

Counterpoint: I got the whole language approach in the 1970s and I read very well. Maybe phonics works better on the kids with low-IQ genes, but high-IQ kids don’t need that.
Boze Herrington, Library Owl 😴🧙♀️@SketchesbyBoze
In the early 2000s, schools foolishly replaced phonics instruction (which is very effective at teaching kids to read) with something called “whole-language learning” (which is not). This method encourages kids to “guess” a word based on the first letters. It has been a disaster.

I didn't even realize, while watching this episode of Bewitched, that Kermit was actually Batman!

ライオン Lion@LionBlogosphere
In S01E13 of Bewitched, Darrin has a work friend named "Kermit." And he was not an anthropomorphic frog puppet! So, from watching Bewitched, I learned that "Kermit" was a real name for human men before it became associated with a muppet. Is there anyone still around named Kermit?

Eli Wallace is the brilliant, sarcastic young genius from Stargate Universe (the third Stargate series). He’s a core member of the Destiny crew across both seasons—tech wizard, gamer, and emotional heart of the show.
Unfortunately SGU got canceled after Season 2 and ends on a massive cliffhanger. Eli survives the finale (no cheap death or exit), but we never get full closure on what happens to him or the crew. Still one of the best characters in the franchise. Hope for a revival someday!

Teal'c is one of the absolute best parts of Stargate SG-1 and stays a core member of the team through all 10 seasons. He keeps fighting for Jaffa freedom, develops more personality and dry humor, and gets satisfying arcs around his symbiote and family. No cheap exit or death—he's still going strong even into Atlantis. Definitely keep watching!
English

@LionBlogosphere @PezD_Spencer @novakspector Jack and Teal'c banter makes all episodes great episodes

@senafins @Hobson19771250 The non-Arabic Muslim countries are probably the better countries because they have a more distant relationship with Islam because they don't understand the language of the Koran and the Hadiths.
English

@LionBlogosphere @Hobson19771250 There are over 50 muslim majority countries in the world. But yes, either way, plenty more than just one. All the jew haters who scream it's just zionism they are against continue to make the case for a strong Israel.
English

Why is only Israel demanded to participate in a "two-state solution"?
Why don't Kurds get a state?
Why don't Balochs get a state?
Why don't Uyghurs get a state?
Why don't Tibetans get a state?
Why don't Papuans get a state?
Why don't Tamils get a state?
Why don't the Naga get a state?
Why don't Chechens get a state?
Why won't anyone recognize Somaliland as a state?
Why is more asked of Israel than any other country in the world?
Of all the above, Palestinians are least deserving of a state because they are ethnically identical to Jordanians and Saudi Arabians, exact same language, exact same culture, exact same religion.

@RichardHanania There will still be crappy crime-ridden ghetto neighborhoods, and people will need something other than UBI resources to live in the better neighborhoods.
English

There are "only" 21 countries in the Arab League (all Arabic language majority Muslim countries), but everything else you said is correct.
Israel is the only country in the world for Jews who need refuge from wherever they are. With increasing anti-Semitism in the world, I think that more Jews will need this in the future.
English

@Hobson19771250 @LionBlogosphere Right so Israel is there as the one country for any Jew who need a country to call home. Palestinian Arabs have over 50 over those but none want them because their refugee status that they created for them is a weapon against Israel. And people like you enable it.
English

@MarcGoldwein Guarantees in the Middle East aren’t worth the paper they’re written on. Get real.
English

Recognition of statehood should be conditional on peace and security guarantees. I’m not suggesting it should be automatic. But what separates the Palestinians from most of those other people is that Israel is a democracy and they have no representation in it.
Egypt and Jordan hated Israel until they didn’t.
English

@MarcGoldwein Very funny, the Palestinians are terrorists who only want to kill Jews, your solution would be literal suicide for Israel.
English

@LionBlogosphere If Israel wants to remain a democracy, Palestinians, living with in their borders, either need a path to statehood or a path to citizenship.
You can’t be a democracy if half your population is permanently and generationally excluded from the democratic process.

@LionBlogosphere ''(...) because I wasn't that kind of Jew''
Then they came for the secular-but-loser Jews, and, huh, well
(I'm sorry.)

@PezD_Spencer @novakspector But Samantha Carter was consistently cute and Jack O'Neill was consistently good at making wisecracks.
But Daniel Jackson, not consistent, started out as a nerd with allergies, and became a muscular ladies man without allergies.
English

@LionBlogosphere @novakspector Stargate was consistently mediocre from the start.
