@SrColburn @LeftieStats Bureaucratic, costly to administer, and divisive. It's a sure-fire way to stigmatise a benefit and ensure those who contribute the most argue against its existence, when 'poorer families' need them to argue for it. But yes, OK, it suits your argument today.

@LeftieStats It literally spells it out in the article for you: “Labour is looking at giving more support for poorer families, while tapering it off for those on higher incomes.” In other words, it will be means tested, so that the wealthy pay.

🚨 BREAKING: Labour has DUMPED its pledge to fund childcare for all young children, citing "fiscal rules". The pledge was made earlier this year by Shadow Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson, but has now been firmly dropped by the leadership.

So it's almost 2 years since I caught covid. What a hell hole it's been. I'm dictating this via Google as typing is too painful. Nerve damage in fingers/toes still. Liver issues which started after covid.. which has not got better.. Chronic fatigue. It's never ending.

I've never met a worker who relishes going out on strike. They lose pay, and it scares people to do so. They do it in an act of desperation when just they can't make ends meet. The government need to pay struggling workers what they deserve.
