Two things are undeniable: Pat McAfee’s insertion into the WrestleMania build has added intrigue, controversy and wild social engagement. Also, his fiery promo on SmackDown was, performance wise, very good indeed as he unapologetically hammered Cody and Punk. But two OTHER things are undeniable also: just like Cena’s heel turn last year on the road to Vegas, NONE OF THIS MAKES ANY SENSE WHATSOEVER meaning fan’s emotional investment is impossible. Plus, Pat using TV time to bash the product, call Night 2 of Mania ‘ass’ whilst simultaneously promoting discount tickets due to slow sales is absolutely baffling beyond belief. The whole thing, thanks to TKO, is a creative mess, and all at the expense of the very long-awaited and much-anticipated feud between Cody & Orton. What a shame. Let’s just hope WWE has something better planned for Vegas…

@WWEGP It has not added anything. This is the worst Wrestlemania build up for years. Two guys with 20 years of history and none of it has been used to generate fan investment. Does anyone feel WWE is must see TV and that we're following amazing storylines? Feels like 1999/2000 WCW.

It’s a good job weed is legal in Vegas because the crowd will likely need a decent amount of it to get through whatever nonsense TKO are going to strong-arm into the night one main event

People misconstruing this are exhausting. Mania 40 was when Vince was completely gone, but in the 18-20 months before that he had limited input. Triple H isn’t saying Vince was in total control as he had been before, but he still was involved. He was barely ever at TV or in creative meetings. He changed the finish of Cody vs Roman at Mania 39, as well as Finn vs Edge at the same show. He got Omos vs Brock on that Mania and completely rewrote the Raw the night after, widely considered one of the worst ever post-Mania Raws.
Vince didn’t want Sami as a long term fixture in the Bloodline. He was done for good before the Rumble 2024 and the Mania build after that was perhaps the greatest ever Road to WrestleMania in history. Most of what we saw between the second half of 2022 to the beginning of 2024 was still Triple H and his team’s creative, with Vince adding bits and pieces and basically approving scripts remotely.
If memory serves correctly, pretty sure WWE began advertising cards for Raw and SmackDown a week in advance so Vince couldn’t really change much as he didn’t want to rip apart already advertised shows.
Triple H has plenty of faults in his creative and his past year or so has dropped off significantly, but to think the same Vince McMahon that was putting together WWE creative between 2016-2021 was suddenly responsible for the white hot product we saw between the second half of 2022-beginning of 2024 is LUNACY.

It wasn't enough that he conspired to sabotage a main event match carrying 15 years of history in the making to prop up some paper champion. He then had to immediately release a "documentary" of how he succeeded in out-politicking The Rock and TKO. This guy is so full of himself.

Denise was spot on with every point, & absolutely not on WWE's payroll.
We all know Mark had a rivalry with Randy, notably in 2011 at Night of Champions when Mark defeated Randy to win his first WWE World Heavyweight Championshi. He he would have made a 100x better Mystery Caller reveal than McAfee.
But since Henry still gettin those WWE checks, he gotta praise & justify McAfee involve with WM42 🤣🤣🤣

I think that might be because you wouldn't expect anyone to be dumb enough to go in that direction in the first place. Anyone in wrestling history, anyone in the history of Randy and Cody and they went with McAfee and then they wonder why company is currently in the toilet.
