Thereโs this weird push from outside Florida to anoint Byron Donalds as our next governor, meanwhile no one here seems particularly excited about him. Itโs honestly hilarious to watch when each wave of this messaging rolls through. It feels like it wants to be a psychological operation, but itโs done so poorly that it doesnโt even qualify.

Canโt run in FL due to term limits and canโt run for president because of his prior opposition to Trump
His only real chance to return to the national spotlight would be an AG appointment that he absolutely crushes

DeSantis played footsie with the lawfare against Trump rather than condemn it. On paper he would be an excellent AG. But this isn't a resume contest. We saw him talk like those cases against Trump might have merit. He's not the right person for the job.
