The graphics quality in vibe coded games sure has improved since last year 🤩 Can't wait to see the new light probes being used too. What other graphics techniques do you wish the AI could do?

@yacineMTB Do you have any target how long would you want it to run? My M5 macbook air lasts like 16 hours, but if a Linux laptop would last 7-8 hours it would be good enough. My HP laptop lasts like 6.

Okay, I just charged it over night. Going to see how well the battery lasts on this thing. If this is truly solved, then it is over for macOS. There were so many things I wasn't doing with my laptop because I simply didn't have linux. But now its all possible

@yacineMTB i switched from omarchy to fedora sway atomic .. much better and more stable. I admit Omarchy is prettier and easier to use.. but sometimes i get random bugs.

Next put together a mini server with 96gb ram, 2tb ssd, bunch of quiet fans, install proxmox on it, and spawn a bunch of VMs (i prefer Debian server for VMs) .. the just ssh or sctl to offload everything from the laptop .. super cheap like $4k and if you want some local models you can pop in an RTX for like $5K and proxmox can link 1 VM directly to gpu. 🔥

I used to know how to make physically accurate shaders with math. Then Blender introduced the Principled BSDF. I used to spend hours lighting interiors with hundreds of lights. Then Cycles brought native path tracing to Blender. People assume AI is different and that it will magically automate "everything else". But there's no correct answer to actual creativity. Ask 100 artists to design a vehicle for a fictional planet and you'll get 100 wildly different results. How can you possibly train for the correct answer, when there is none? 3D artists have long careers ahead of them as 3D offers drastically more control than text. Some skills will become less valuable under certain AI workflows. I'm not thrilled about losing a skill I spent time learning any more than you are, but this isn't new.

I'm excited to share that I'm going back to Spawn. After a lot of reflection and talking with people in the space, no other place comes close. I love games. I love what we built. I love our team and users. Spawn is the place where I grew the most as an engineer is such a short time. The intensity is one exceptionally few companies in the world have. It's a blessing in hindsight. No other platforms that let you turn words to games, or try to, comes close to Spawn. We will win on every front. The next years will be awesome. We got an exceptional team. The bar is insanely high at Spawn. That's how I know we'll win. I'm so driven and hungry. It's time to cook like never before.
