@SnazzyLabs I mean this so honestly: what does the e-reader do for you that the kindle app won’t? I love my kindle, but end up doing most of my reading on my phone because I’ve already got it with me. But this seems like a clunkier version of the app in the same space?

i mean it's mostly a choice between "try to fix the problem" and "pretend the problem doesn't exist" and the main issue is that if you choose the former then university management will drop an anvil on your head the instant a student complains about having to do work

@funnierhandle I feel like this is also something that is context dependent (duh). Answering like those kids in an AP class in front of my intellectual peers would have been unthinkable. In a freshman general class? Sure. But I was too scared to fail and embarrassed myself!

@cirnosad If their intention is to rebuild and not change things, reconstruction can happen quite quickly. Catastrophic incidents can and do happen in the US, and reconstruction takes time but definitely not *decades.*

@cirnosad I work in O&G. Decades to rebuild an LNG facility in the gulf states in laughable. 10 years of construction and commissioning would be considered very long for multibillion dollar project in the US, and that’s because of the regulatory environment.
