My colleague was convinced that the engineering fraternity held the solutions to the nationโs most pressing hurdles. I reassured him that, far from avoiding them, the President likely wanted dedicated time to engage with them properly. That perspective was validated today in Livingstone. Officiating at the Engineering Institute of Zambiaโs annual meeting, President Hichilema laid out a clear vision for the profession's role in national growth. He didn't just speak; he invited the fraternity to State House for further consultation and specifically called on engineers in the diaspora to contribute their skills. It was arguably the most energized I have seen the President during a professional engagementโhe seemed truly in his element and ready to build.
