Rolled credits on Esoteric Ebb. Maybe the first game that is a genuinely worthy successor of the Disco Elysium style. It's so unique though that I think it won't get that comparison for long. It's inevitable that EBB carves out it's own place in people's minds.

Resident Evil 9 is fricking amazing. About 60-70% of the way through it now. It's a perfect amalgamation of the franchise's two most identifiable styles: claustrophobic horror, and deliriously entertaining action violence. The most recent remakes did this well: RE9 perfected it.

@BipedalBastard @saladinskull Well said. MGS2 embodies what I love most about Metal Gear gameplay the most. Obviously the subsequent games are amazing and improve on it, but you distilled what makes MGS2 my favorite.

@saladinskull Personal preference but the gameplay is buttery smooth and Big Shell's design gives way to tight infiltration and verticality with freedom on where to start. It's why I love bomb disposal; entering unexplored areas without a radar to find a bomb forces me into emergent situations

MGS2 is getting glazed on my timeline again and I feel like I'm going insane because the gameplay sections can really be a slog to get through, but it always gets overlooked because of the narrative
