Okay seriously can Roblox stop punishing the people who actually went out of their way to make the faces animated and go after the people who were specifically doing 2D face bypasses? I know this is a hot take, but I’m pretty sure that’s like 99% what their issue was.

This is what an "undetected" left eye looks like. It's probably a cage issue of course, but I can't be 100% sure because there is 0 feedbacking. I've done everything I can imagine to the cage and had no luck.

avatar auto-setup on walter is really weird. it keeps detecting random parts of his head as his eyebrows.

@MaximumADHD Good luck getting the avatar team to listen. Every time anyone has tried giving feedback to them internally and externally they stick their fingers in their ears and go "LALALALA I CANT HEAR YOUU" while doubling down on their designs.

@MaximumADHD I believe this is an issue with uniontypes, as this works fine. You can also use typecasting, for example baz = {} :: Foo, which seems to be more lenient.

One of the fun things about Luau’s new type solver is that strict table types require you to exactly match the shape of a type, even if it’s redundant to do so. For example: A value of {} no longer fits { Field: string? }, you have to write it as { Field = nil :: string? }

This unfortunately fucks up a lot of my code because I assumed the old solver allowing this was a feature rather than a bug. I assumed it was implicitly working out that my exclusion of the field meant I was slotting in nil for that value and that it should fit the type of ‘T?`

The new checker is unnecessarily strict. It should not be necessary for a head to be able to smile and frown. Blinking sure, if it’s applicable, and yes, the features of the face should be isolated so make up can function properly, but the checks they have in place are horseshit.

What I really want to do is add support for mounting VPK files so you can import a full model + textures just by selecting an MDL file, but file imports are currently capped to 100 MBs.
