In incredible news, our preprint (ecoevorxiv.org/repository/vie…) has now been downloaded >7500 times from EcoEvoRXiv in the last week! We show that ecological results are very sensitive to who analyses the data and how they do it.

Wow. Some absolute ripper responses to this. To be clear, I’m not miserable about my work - I pretty much have my dream job. But I’ve also had 8 years of insecure employment since graduating 🫤 So you can’t be mad at me for window shopping other jobs.

So grateful to @EcolSocAus for the award and the chance to shine light on arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi. There is so much we don’t know about their basic ecology and biology. Gaps we need to fill if we are to manage these awesomely complex organisms. #ESAus23

Plant hosts can play favourites with AM fungi depending on how much soil goodies the fungi give to the plant! My mind is blown @frewecologist. I never knew plants were such petty landlords! #ESAus23

@JasperPeachSays When I was a young country kid, whenever we drove to visit family in Melb my sisters and I would close car windows as we neared the city 'to keep our fresh country air in'. But like, we swam in irrigation channels, so we basically stewed ourselves in chemicals all summer.

@JasperPeachSays @sophiebeerdraws You can also pull the 'i would not have purchased this product if I'd known it would break so quickly' thus possibly referring to consumer law. Is it reasonable to expect this expensive product to work for longer than 1 year (or however long). Check out Vic consumer law site

@EllesOrchids My kids say, 'mum is in the fields'.

I just found out that my sister thought there was a specific field I went to whenever I said I was "in the field". I've been going to this same field for the past 17 years. This field contains my honours sites, phd sites,landcare sites... it never occurred to me she thought that!
