@Nature news just published a story about the implications our preprint showing how vulnerable results are to analytic choices. Check it out here! nature.com/articles/d4158…
Dr Hannah Fraser@HannahSFraser

In incredible news, our preprint (ecoevorxiv.org/repository/vie…) has now been downloaded >7500 times from EcoEvoRXiv in the last week! We show that ecological results are very sensitive to who analyses the data and how they do it.

So excited to release this work into the wild. Thank you so much to the 300 odd researchers who contributed to the project. And especially to my joint-first-authors @TimParker88, @Elliot_Gould_ for putting in a terrifying number of hours on this
Tim Parker@TimParker88

When many different researchers analyze the same data, results vary .... A LOT! Our Many-Analysts study from ecology and evo-bio is FINALLY up on @ecoevorxiv doi.org/10.32942/X2GG62 Thanks to the HUNDREDS of researchers who made this study possible.

Very proud to have this project published. Thanks to everyone who helped me take platypus eDNA samples before and after the black summer megafires. Please check it and the @ConversationEDU article out! doi.org/10.1016/j.bioc… @r_tingley @andrewrweeks @lukewarm1981 @enviro_DNA

Platypuses are hard to spot in the wild, but their DNA helps researchers track their presence and disappearance Here, @EcoEmcg + @andrewrweeks (@UniMelb) sampled 118 rivers + creeks before and after the Black Summer bushfires, searching for platypus DNA. #Echobox=1696370968-1" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">theconversation.com/even-platypuse…

It's the nicest part of #ESAus23 now, giving prizes to students & ECRs. I was judging posters and talks this year and my goodness I did not see one that was not excellent! The caliber of spoken & visual communication is so high and I love it so much! Well done everyone!!!

We currently have an exciting #PhD project available focused on dealing with missing data and uncertainty in mechanistic niche models of species distributions. The student would be based in QAECO (qaeco.com), a dynamic, friendly, and diverse group at @UniMelb
