And when Australia deemed parents as non immediate family / locked citizens in and out & caused the separation of countless binational couples? That was uncomfortable too & definitely not a good image for #Australia either. #AustraliaIsBroken

@smh_ch @ParentsFamily Yes they are on a visitor visa which says must not arrive after 29 January 2022, the government did not give them a three or five year multiple entry visa like before…anyone in this situation?

@MelSoldier @ParentsFamily Are they on a visitor visa? I think they’d have to just get another exemption as that is only single use. However, visa would be multiple entry. But best to ring the help desk of HA.

@smh_ch @ParentsFamily Anyone has tried to go overseas with their parents on tourist visas? Do you need to apply for another exemption for them to come back again after 3 days in Fiji? My parents would like to stay longer and this is the only way…Thanks for helping me

@EmilyBruin1 1. Go see a doctor to update the vaccination register with the overseas vaccination card 2. Create mygov account and link the individual health number…its quick and immediate…i have done it myself

Queensland: how are overseas-vaccinated people with no Medicare or myGov proving vaccination status? Can they just show the card that got them into the country?

@GemmaTognini Yes - I got severe cystic acne (never had acne in my life). Im now on antidepressants for severe depression (never had depression in my life). The emotional stress people are under is awful. Making us ill.

If you dont think ongoing family separation is a big deal, a friend of mine who hasnt seen her mum in God knows how long, is losing her hair from the stress of it. Hers is just one story. But sure...As long as y'all arent inconvenienced. #ImAllrightJack #WApol

A lot of people have taken my critique of Australia personally. I get it. It’s “your” country. It feels personal. It’s not. Many countries have responded harshly, even cruelly. But Australia *is* unusual in that it’s supported by virtually all parties. How then do we do better?

I’m changing my mum’s ticket to early next week instead of two weeks time, not because she isn’t allowed in to #Australia but because I’ve become a paranoid, anxious citizen who doesn’t trust the @ausgov to not shut borders again on a whim. Envy of the world!

So I was 5 days from being in Australia and now I’m not allowed again. I have PTSD from all of this. I could throw up. I feel physically sick
