I wasn't happy with a lot of David Stearns' moves this offseason, but I was optimistic on Opening Day. But what I thought, or what any of us thought, doesn't matter, because the results so far are vastly unacceptable. Stearns watched the 2024 Mets go to the NLCS and decided to redo the pitching staff for 2025. How did that work out? Then, he decided to redo the Mets lineup for the 2026 season. How's that working out? Whether you're an analytics person or not, you cannot defend this atrocity. Even if the #Mets were a .500 team right now, it would be unacceptable. It's far worse than that.

Yet they didn't have Keith Hernandez for at least a week as a special instructor needs to be investigated. Never understood how you have arguably the best defensive first baseman in the history of the sport around and this team has barely tapped into that knowledge.
