The viciousness towards Erika is unlike anything Iโve ever seen. Just absolute psychopathic cruelty being casually exhibited by huge numbers of people on both sides of the aisle. Even if you donโt like Erika for some dumb reason, this treatment is still deranged and cartoonishly evil. There are women in public life who I despise but if their husbands were shot and they were left raising young children alone, I wouldnโt mock and bully them. I wouldnโt pretend that I suddenly like them either. Iโd probably just keep my mouth shut. That is also an option. If you donโt like Erika, you could always just focus on something else, rather than putting your wickedness on display for the world to see.

But my husband does this year round with hardly any time off, he works on his time off because if he doesn't then the work piles up, and he does not get summers off.

Everyone loves to remind teachers about summer. Fine. Let's do the math. This week I worked nearly 60 hours. 6:30 arrival. Unpaid lunch with kids in my room. Covered PE โ I teach Spanish. Graded vocab tests Friday night. Graded a children's book project on Saturday. Turned one into a movie and posted it for the class. Five hours of lesson planning today. The standard work week is 40 hours. The extra 20? Unpaid. Some weeks, the grading is lighter. Some weeks it's worse. This is not the worst week I've had. But yes. I get summers off.

They are not allowed to put anything made by the children on the walls
The teachers are not allowed to tell the children "no" and are instead instructed to distract and redirect the chold from the wrong behavior

My sister works at a daycare and you would be surprised and disgusted at some of the rules.
Little babies, 18mo and up, are required to dish out their own food and feed themselves with no help whatsoever. If they don't eat then too bad, they're hungry.

The reason there will be no โfuel crisisโ in the Netherlands is that every town, city, & village in the land is connected by fully-segregated cycle lanes. Itโs possible for the Dutch to simply stop driving while fuel is short and prices are high. Thatโs real energy resilience.
