My general thought is that the NFL overvalues individual draft picks but undervalues the total team volume of draft picks.

I know Iโm stepping into a hornetโs nest here but I think the move for Dexter Lawrence was a great one for the Bengals. Iโm open to the idea that they overpaid a little bit, but people grossly overvalue the ability to get an NFL player from draft picks. Lawrence is exactly what Cincinnati needs. Or maybe they could flip a coin on a prospect and hope it comes up Heads. Give me the proven player for the pick any day - especially in their spot at 10.

Needing to limit his snaps to maximize his production is straight-up horse shit.
In his best two seasons in the NFL, he played a combined 1,688 snaps.
Injury is absolutely a risk, but the idea he's a one-dimensional NT who needs to be on a pitch count is divorced from fact.

Talking to several coaches around the NFL right now ... they are STUNNED the #Giants got what they did for Dexter Lawrence. All agree: Very good player, but not worth No. 10. Age, injury and concerns regarding his conditioning pointed out. Also that you need to limit the number of snaps he plays to maximize his production; really just a one position player. Needless to say: Great return for #NYG.

I disagree - IF - and it's a significant if - he's healthy from that elbow injury.
He's still only 28. At his peak, he's been 1 of 1 as a nose tackle.
Even on a bigger money deal there is nowhere Cincinnati could have gone at 10 that would make more impact.
