The one we all get for the water that quite literally falls from the sky. In one of the wettest countries in Europe… we pay for rain. Let that sink in. 💦 For many commercial properties with unmetered supplies, charges are tied directly to rateable value—which, as of now, has just shot through the roof. 📈 Even if you are metered, your drainage charge (the fee for rainwater landing on your roof and flowing into public sewers) is also based on… you guessed it… rateable value. 💸 So higher valuation = higher bills across the board. 💰 At what point do we do something? Because right now it feels like we’re just shrugging and accepting it—again and again. 🤷‍♀️ Anyway… back to the ballot boxes next month to pick our favourite liar for another four years 🙃
