He had Pau playing at an All‑NBA level, Odom as the best 6th man in the league, Bynum as a top young big, Artest as an elite defender, Phil Jackson running the most optimized system in basketball, and the #1 defense. That’s not ‘carrying.’ That’s a loaded, perfectly constructed contender. Kobe was great - but he wasn’t dragging a bargain-bin roster to back‑to‑back titles.
