DeFi maxis are just TradFi wolves in sheep’s clothing. Most people’s view of Wall Street isn’t a good one. They manipulate natural markets to extract value from those looking to invest/save in assets that provide some benefit to the world, at a fair value. But despite TradFi being a net negative to the world, at least their markets are for assets with real value/utility. DeFi maxis are like “ooh let me get some of that value extraction, but with this hypecoin that does nothing for the world” 😩 And we wonder why there is no adoption 🤡

@Mundelbert @phil_uplc @phillewisit Well there isn’t “no risk” in Ethena - as I said this doesn’t exist in finance, it’s just relatively low when contextualised and compared to others.

@KylixAfonso @phil_uplc @phillewisit Now if we have a product that offers more than inflation the delta has to come from risk. Why? What stops you from taking a 10m loan from a bank and get free 5% of ther per year? Nothing but risk of losing it.

(USD has inflation so the key interest rate is set accordingly) If you offer any kind of product on top of a stable coin which is based on a fiat asset. I has to beat the key interest rate or offer more security or something else
