@felipe_mattioni @SportsMedicineJ What a pleasure working with you, @DanielKeir1 and the rest of the team on this amazing AI tool for automated thresholds detection. Let's see how people receive it now!

@chris_esh @kinesiologui @HBKU For those who don't know Gui in person, he's the good looking guy in that picture 😉.
English

@GregoireMillet1 Indeed^2 😉. I 100% agree with that. In fact, it's funny how some simple stories that don't challenge much fly through the publication system, and some much better (but "disruptive") ones are far tougher to publish. Anyway, we won't fix anything on X, but still fun to interact 😀
English

@MuriasLab Indeed. But it is easier and often more rewarded in Academia to take NO risks and to reproduce ever and ever the same protocols .. for similar findings🤨
In my view, a major limitation of the current scientific world !
English

Agreed. The key question we (scientists) have to ask ourselves: Did my research change something in my field ? Significantly ? How disruptive is-it ?
Rosa Ritunnano@RRitunnano
Instead of listing my publications, as the year draws to an end, I want to put pressure on the commonplace assumption that productivity must always increase. Good research is disruptive and thinking time is central to high quality scholarship and necessary for disruptive research
English

@GregoireMillet1 I feel that this need for disruption brings people to risky places. Same with the "utility" of research. Who can say that something will be useful or disruptive?
Anyway, you're right, both things can and need to coexist, and everyone has to find a place in this ecosystem.
Cheers!
English

@MuriasLab Interesting comment.. but who said that strong environment or first-class support staff are not needed?
Does "chaos" in science mean "change in paradigm"?
At our tiny "sport sciences" level, are replicating the Kuhn-Popper debate?
