President Trump gave the world the Artemis Program, and NASA and our partners have the plan to deliver. We will standardize architecture where possible, add missions and accelerate flight rate, execute in an evolutionary way, and safely return American astronauts to the Moon, this time to stay. This is the NASA that once changed the world. This is the NASA that will do it again.

President Trump is making sure we never lose sight of the Moon again. Apollo 17 was the last time humans were on the lunar surface. Under Artemis, we’re going to build upon those achievements and stay. We are ensuring America secures access to the ultimate high ground in space once again. 🇺🇸

The next chapter of America’s journey to explore the solar system begins TONIGHT. Artemis II and the SLS rocket roll out of the Vehicle Assembly Building to Launch Complex 39B as we target a launch attempt as early as April 1. This mission will potentially send astronauts farther into space than any human has traveled before - around the Moon and safely back home. And, under @POTUS’ National Space Policy Directive, we’re just getting started.

A team in action. 🌟 Flight controllers at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas, continuously staff the International @Space_Station Flight Control Room, monitoring all systems aboard the orbiting laboratory. Today, they're also monitoring two astronauts outside the hatch -- @Astro_Jessica and @Astro_ChrisW -- as they conduct a spacewalk.

Space and NASA missions inspire people around the world. When nations choose to join missions like Artemis, it's a privilege, and it comes with real responsibility to contribute and help drive the mission forward. @Astro_Jeremy is a critical member of the Artemis II crew. The Apollo missions sparked his dreams and now Artemis is making those dreams a reality. Mission execution is how exploration succeeds in the Golden Age. 🚀

As a kid at Space Camp, @Astro_Christina first imagined the possibility of becoming an astronaut. The path from that moment to space takes resolve, resilience, and a willingness to keep pushing forward—qualities that have defined her career. And knowing Christina, she’s still just getting started.

Our Artemis II astronaut @AstroVicGlover has built a remarkable career as a naval aviator, test pilot, and astronaut. Listening to him talk about the updated Artemis architecture, you realize how quickly the path to space is changing. We’re not just flying a mission, we’re building the foundation for sustained exploration beyond Earth.

Every astronaut brings a different story to the mission, usually led by curiosity, service, and a willingness to chase big dreams. @astro_reid is a great example of that path. Proud to see Americans like him carrying exploration forward.🇺🇸

Great visiting NASA’s Independent Verification & Validation Facility in West Virginia with @SenCapito and spending time with the workforce where engineers and software experts ensure the systems behind our missions are safe, secure, and ready for flight. Their work may happen behind the scenes, but it’s absolutely mission-critical to everything we do, from human spaceflight to deep space exploration. Grateful to meet the team helping make NASA’s missions possible.

Last week’s Supplier Matchmaking Expo helped connect over 900 small business suppliers with dozens of multinational companies looking to reshore production here at home. Small businesses are powering our war fighters, our spaceships, and the next generation of U.S. industrial dominance!

Last week, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Nearly one in eight women in the United States will face this diagnosis. Every day, these women continue to raise their families, go to work, and serve their communities with strength and determination. I now join their ranks. I am grateful to have an outstanding team of doctors who detected the cancer early and are guiding my care, and I am encouraged by a very good prognosis. I am also deeply thankful for the support and encouragement of President Trump as I undergo treatment and continue serving in my role as White House Chief of Staff.

Triumph turns to near disaster 60 years ago this morning At 11:41 am March 16, 1966, rookie astronauts Neil Armstrong and David Scott launched aboard Gemini VIII. Within 6 hours, they had accomplished the first ever docking of two spacecraft in orbit. It was a milestone that the Apollo program depended on. Without proving that two vehicles could safely link up in space, there would be no Moon landing. But 27 minutes after docking, their spacecraft began to spin uncontrollably. Armstrong and Scott found themselves in danger of losing consciousness as they spun at around 1 revolution per second. Armstrong, cool-headed under extreme duress, was able to disable the misfiring thruster and stabilize the spacecraft, saving their lives.

The next chapter of Artemis is about acceleration. • Building the Moon base • Landers at the lunar south pole on a monthly cadence starting in 2027 • Nuclear power & propulsion • More science and discovery First we clear the barriers inside NASA. Then we move.

It’s simple: NASA needs the best talent—and we’re bringing it back in-house. We’re reviewing thousands of contractor roles for conversion to civil servant positions to rebuild core capabilities, move faster, and put more resources toward science, and discovery. We will launch rockets in months, not years.

Returning to the Moon will prepare us for the grand journey to Mars. If we get this right, we’ll see the Stars and Stripes on the Red Planet in our lifetimes.🇺🇸 Thank you @C__Herridge for having me on.

We are absolutely in a race with China to the Moon, and the margin between first and second could be measured in months. That is why we will be launching Moon rockets more often, strengthening our partnerships with industry, and executing President Trump’s plan to return American astronauts to the lunar surface in 2028.

In a few weeks, 8.8 million pounds of thrust will propel the Artemis II crew on their historic journey around the Moon - but we’re not stopping there. We’re going to launch Artemis missions every year and build an enduing presence on the lunar surface.
America is returning to the Moon, and this time, we’re staying.
