Sometimes, the best science happens on accident. A team using Hubble studied a comet (not even their first-choice target!) and realized they were witnessing it in the act of breaking apart. Find out more about these ultra-rare observations: go.nasa.gov/4lUAdIl

NASA’s Parker Solar Probe just did it again. ☀️ On March 11th, it completed its 27th close approach to the Sun, flying just 3.8 million miles from the solar surface at a blistering and record-matching 430,000 mph. New data drops March 18: go.nasa.gov/474BFBH

A 2.5-second rocket flight that heralded decades of discovery in space! Today marks 100 years since the first successful test of a liquid-fueled rocket. Robert H. Goddard's achievement would have appeared unimpressive by most measures: His rocket flew just 41 feet in the air, landing in a nearby cabbage patch. Liquid-propelled rocketry has been the backbone of spaceflight ever since. 📷 by Esther Goddard on March 16, 1926 (Clark University Archive)
