@newsobserver I appreciate the voice of Dr. Ivey, an expert & reading researcher. Focus should be on increasing teachers’ knowledge & expertise rather than spending $ on programs that will not lead to significant gains in reading & more importantly will not develop motivated, engaged readers.

Can we all agree to stop using the phrase “my Level 1 babies” or “my low babies”? Does adding “babies” make you feel like it’s ok to have low expectations for students? It is condescending and shows how you really feel about your students. Please stop. #KnowBetterDoBetter
