On the whole "TNS online killed locals" topic and offline vs. online discussion, one thing Tong touches on in the podcast is how Tampa Never Sleeps Online is a major loss leader for the company. To run online events at the scale and quality TNS does, they take on: - 8 full time employees - All commentators/TO's/staff paid for their time - Infrastructure costs TNS is losing money on nearly every online event they run, while employing people within the FGC and giving a platform for the players and smaller game communities. The tradeoff is the service to the community and awareness of the brand the online tournaments provide, which helps them land and work offline events to pay the bills. These offline events become the hubs people gather at. It's not offline vs. online, it's one community.

I need this to be elaborate rage bait designed to unify the FGC in recognizing TNS is one of the greatest net positives in the history of competitive gaming. Otherwise, this is one of the worst takes I've ever seen, and I'm disheartened realizing anyone could be this stupid.

@Bri4nF @TongNeverSleeps TNS & their weekly online tournaments are part of what is killing the FGC. No one involved with TNS, "FGC first". They are selfish. They created an enviroment where people dont want to leave their homes & go to regionals or locals. You want to be FGC first, switch to monthlies.

The people getting surprised by these numbers just shows how much people donโ€™t know how expensive it is to run an event. And itโ€™s not just a California thing either as many have blamed it on. Venues charge a lot for internet because they can. There are no other internet options.

annual reminder that the internet at the genesis venue costs this much in addition to a $36k base rate per day. american venues are a scam and it's a wonder we get any streams at all in any of the big convention centers #gx3

It feels a hair early to make such hefty changes to Elsa's Ult but it's understandable. I like the hitbox change a lot. There were far too many instances where I felt I was out of range of Glartrox and then all of a sudden I'm somehow scooped up in its wake. #MarvelRivals

CEOtaku, an Update: I wanted to completely be transparent about the future of CEOtaku and the challenge it has been to bring back. At this time I do not have anything lined up for 2026. Last year I was very close to having it take place but date conflicts with other events came in to play. For this year, it's still a challenge to find the right time as well as a suitable venue that can even come close to what the Wyndham Provided. In a dream world, I do want to bring it to where CEO prime currently exists at a Rosen Property but finding the right dates and taking a risk for another standalone event would not be as easy as it was when we first started CEOtaku. Why am I saying this now? I know a few members of the community like to hold out from attending CEO, but honestly, this year has more Anime featured titles than ever and we have the space to accommodate everyone under one event. If you were holding out for a CEOtaku this year, I suggest making it out to CEO 2026 on August 14-16 if you have the means. It's shaping up to be an incredible event based on early numbers and we're still 6 months away. I promise, CEOtaku will always be on my mind to bring back one day when the timing is right. I'm not done with it yet. Until then support your local communities. I appreciate everyone's support for everything and when I can bring it back, it will be special. Also, not bringing back CEOtaku is not a sign of the times as I truly believe the FGC is in a great spot. No amount of doom & gloom on social media can take away the real world experiences you get from being around other FGC members at events. Thanks for reading.

As someone who lived through the gutting of @PlayRuneterra, I can tell you that @riotgames reducing team size is NEVER a good thing. I am disappointed beyond measure to see that #2XKO, upon just having gotten to v1.0 after ten years of development, is already restructuring.
