Caleb Durbin has shown some encouraging signs at the plate in his last seven games. 7 R, 7 H, 4 HR, 5 RBI, .280 AVG.

Let’s just imagine for a moment this lineup with Romy, Roman, and Casas all healthy. Man.

The removal of high schoolers from the draft would be very interesting and could signal a further cutting of low-minor league baseball as college baseball would play that role - except maybe for international players.

@BOSSportsGordo @Feinsand Strongly disagree re Gray. Salaries are not that big a deal for a deadline rental - and I think the Cardinals are already eating part of it.

One AL executive to @Feinsand on the Red Sox potential deadline sell-off: “Gray’s market will be limited by his salary, Contreras is an acquired taste, Duran is having a down season, and Chapman will be a rental reliever. The potential returns for that group will be tempered.”

@jaketodonnell He is what we thought. He can hit some but it’s not going to play as a major league first baseman and he’s not at 3B. But good for him

Feels like some of the people mad about Blaze Jordan looking good in MLB are the same who call the Red Sox prospect-huggers who don’t make win-now moves. We all want every trade to be a fleece job but that’s not reality and you can’t have it both ways.
