No Muslim Ban Ever

6/5/25 – The No Muslim Ban Ever coalition held an urgent meeting today to discuss the newly announced Trump travel ban.

The Iran–U.S. Ceasefire terms are clear and explicit: the U.S. must choose—ceasefire or continued war via Israel. It cannot have both. The world sees the massacres in Lebanon. The ball is in the U.S. court, and the world is watching whether it will act on its commitments.

Trump is openly calling to commit genocide in Iran, threatening "a whole civilization will die." Beyond passing a War Powers Resolution to end this illegal war, Congress must take action NOW and remove Trump from office. TAKE ACTION: mpoweraction.org/impeachtrump

This is not some sort of fog of war situation w terrible options foisted upon us by external forces. This is a war of choice and now our country is threatening to commit genocide. It is time for all American patriots to speak up, unanimously, against this monstrous, insane war.

One month after starting the war in Iran, this is the statement of the President of the United States on Easter Sunday. These are the ravings of a dangerous and mentally unbalanced individual. Congress has got to act NOW. End this war.

The War in Iran is costing taxpayers nearly $1 billion a day. While Trump funds another illegal war, Republicans in Congress are cutting healthcare and food assistance.  Invest in the American people, not more endless wars.

Utterly disgusted with the Senate that just voted against (47-52) Sens. @timkaine & @RandPaul's bipartisan War Powers Resolution to block further unauthorized U.S. attacks on Iran, and to end the U.S.'s illegal regime change war in Iran.  Make no mistake: The American people DO NOT support this illegal war of choice with Iran even though a number of Republicans tonight who had previously supported war powers measures in the past voted 'No' on the Kaine-Paul WPR for partisan reasons to back Trump's catastrophic and unauthorized war. That's cowardly and disqualifying. It also goes against the Constitution and the wishes of the American people by not voting to end this unconstitutional regime change war, and prohibit further unauthorized attacks on Iran. I'm heartbroken and praying for my loved ones and extended family in Iran, and the 93 million Iranians in Iran that have to suffer as a result of this reprehensible US/Israel bombardment and destruction of our beautiful Iran. 💔

Today, I led a letter with @RepDonBeyer and @Ilhan - signed by 58 House Democrats - demanding answers & accountability on Trump's expanded, racist travel ban. Because of Trump's ban, over 60% of the countries in Africa and 20% of all countries worldwide are now fully or partially banned from the U.S. Families will be needlessly separated & our economy will suffer.

If Trump actually cared about the Iranian people (which we know he does not), he can help the Iranian people by lifting the crippling sanctions, rather than further isolating the country and having ordinary Iranians suffer. It's beyond cruel.

ICE arrested our beloved professor Vahid Abedini. He is Farzaneh Family Assistant Prof of Iranian Studies at the University of Oklahoma's @OklahomaU's Boren College of International Studies @oucis Dr. Abedini was boarding a flight on his way to attend the Middle East Studies Association (@MESA_1966) in Washington DC when he was detained and put to jail. Nov 22. He has been wrongfully detained because he has a valid H-1B visa —a non-immigrant work visa granted to individuals in “specialty occupations,” including higher education faculty. We are praying for his swift release.

The Israeli government’s genocide in Gaza has not ended, and it will not end until we act.
