Yesterday, in the hardware store, a woman could not reach an item on the top shelf. I walked by her twice as she subtly glanced at me and made little helpless woman noises, hoping I would ask to help her.
Her expectation was that I would pick up on her signaling and ask to help, because I am a man and thatโs a manโs duty. Like the woman in the video, instead of going out of her way to find an employee or something to help her help herself, her expectation was that the closest man would see her damseling and offer.
That used to be an almost reasonable expectation. In the moment, I wanted to help her, but unfortunately weโve rewritten the social contract to make men taking the initiative and recognizing implied desire or consent taboo. If women want something, they have to verbalize it. Probably they should write it down, have it notarized, and provide copies to us in case they decide they regret what they said they wanted in the future.
Eventually she recognized I wasnโt paying attention to her handkerchief throwing and asked me to help, so I did. But had she not asked, I wouldnโt have helped.
The days of women exercising soft power over men by way of their feminine helplessness are waning, because they made it dangerous. Disappointing for them, but itโs what they said they wanted.

Her intention isnโt to have a conversation or a debate about the topic with me to find resolution, her objective is to smear me publicly. BPD abuse tactic.

This is what I mean about the circles. No matter what abusive thing you do to me, youโre always going to spend it as though Iโm abusing you simply because Iโm defending myself and calling you out. I wonโt deny that it is slightly entertaining, because itโs educational as an example of BPD behavior.

BPD is used to excuse abuse. Thereโs a relatively popular YouTube psych that talks all about it. You should watch. Really whatโs happening is your feelings have been hurt by what I said, so you want to spin an abuse narrative so you can publicly abuse me and claim to be the victim. Itโs a classic BPD tactic.
