27 years ago today 🇸🇪 Sweden won the 44th #Eurovision in Jerusalem with Charlotte Nilsson (Perrelli) and “Take Me To Your Heaven”. The orchestra was no more from 1999, replaced by backing tracks and countries were free to choose which language to sing in

@willovision For twenty-two years, there was an orchestra and conductors from (in the main) the contributing countries. And now, what do we have? Lots of synthesised orchestra tracks accompanying the artists. You can’t tell me it’s money. I refuse to believe it.

@thetvroom It doesn’t feel so unusual to me, it’s just a fraction faster (it’s nearly a semitone higher in pitch than the usual one) - I’ve read of programmes speeding up their end sigs in the past, but never seen it done live like this (if that’s what happened…)
