@Renevelation Same. Conversations on the topic with my Christian friends don't tend to go well, anyone not a close friend I usually shed pretty quickly, after it's shown they're very unwilling to verify facts & learn about the beliefs they so devoutly profess to have. I hate wilful ignorance.

As of 23 Mar 2026 (Gaspy national avgs): 91 petrol $3.33/L – tax content ~$1.35/L (41%) incl excise 70c + ACC 6c + monitoring 0.7c + ETS ~14.5c + GST 43c (15% on pre-GST). 95 petrol $3.53/L – similar fixed/ETS, total tax ~$1.44/L (41%). Diesel $3.16/L – pump tax ~$0.60/L (19%) incl monitoring 0.7c + ETS ~16.5c + GST 41c (no excise; RUC paid separately by owners). Regional fuel tax adds ~11.5c/L extra in some areas like Auckland.
