@PPCGreg @CJSlattery I always start new campaigns with manual. Once conversions start to happen on a regular basis I will often test automated (max conv or tcpa) and there are plenty of times that automated bidding fails to deliver a better cost per conversion. Happens all the time.

I haven't seen manual CPC outperform smart bidding for a nonbrand campaign in probably 5 years.
Anyone here have any recent examples where it has/does?

On a 1.5-hour drive from Milwaukee to Madison, I searched Apple Podcasts for "Google Ads" and found my first true obsession: the Paid Search Podcast.
I listened to and studied all 150 episodes in 2 weeks when I was getting started with Google Ads.
