The pressure is rising on Rep. Cory Mills
Mills says he is being “unfairly lumped into this” as more lawmakers call for him to resign and the ethics probe hangs over Congress.

@Curt1552013 @daily_cowboy It cracks me up when they say , such&such national forest is closed

@daily_cowboy Interesting as hunters and fisherman we all understand the importance of management, but has to be legal.
I've always wondered how we can trespass on public land? I can see limiting access for safety reasons but trespassing? It's our land.

An Oregon man accused of violating Yellowstone National Park’s fishing restrictions and a road closure is challenging the park’s rules as unconstitutional overreach. If he wins, it could upend the park’s ability to enforce many of its rules.

@SenWarren How long have you been in Congress, Elizabeth Warren. Over 13 YEARS!
Maybe you should get some shit done instead of bitching about it.

“We should perhaps be a little less fearful of Islam.”
“…whoever carries out this job (of beheading the pastor), I swear to Allah I’ll give him one million naira. We have nothing to lose even if after beheading this pastor, the Arewa plunges into chaos, we have nothing to lose…”

🇪🇸 Spain's Vox party leader Santiago Abascal condemns the far-left Socialist Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez for what he describes as a "calculated betrayal" and a "Great Replacement" of the Spanish people.
This comes after the current Spanish government officially approved the plan to grant legal status to approximately 500,000 undocumented migrants who had been illegally staying in Spain, with some reports stating that it may include up to 1.3 million illegal migrants.
Abascal claims the decision by Sánchez is “treasonous,” accusing him of deliberately replacing the Spanish population with foreigners to build a future voting bloc for his far-left socialist administration. He also claims it will lead to the collapse of public services and is part of a broader effort to “ruin” the Spanish nation’s cultural identity.
For many Spaniards, this move by the Socialist government is not a humanitarian gesture but a fraudulent "importation of voters" designed to replace the very citizens Sánchez has abandoned.
"The Spanish people hate the Prime Minister, that is why he is trying to replace them with migrants who will vote for him," says Abascal.

@nicksortor And now DEMOCRAT whistleblowers are testifying on how Walz’s administration retaliated against them.
He must be impeached.

🚨 JUST IN: Minnesota legislators have just filed to IMPEACH Tim Walz for the OVERWHELMING FRAUD he's allowed across the state
“Federal investigation and lawmakers have estimated up to $9 BILLION in fraud across multiple programs administered by the state.
This represents not a minor administrative lapse but a SYSTEMATIC BREAKDOWN in governance.”

@balberlin @giveashitnature @jackson_scruffy You are either ignorant or lying. Offshore wind turbines kill marine life

English

@Pepper_Rides @giveashitnature @jackson_scruffy NOAA, BOEM + the Marine Mammal Commission agree: no evidence of a causal link btw offshore wind energy +, 4 e.g., the whale strandings on the U.S. East Coast. There are no documented cases in which a whale was killed by pounding. Classic disinformation narratives from BigOil.
English

A single whale sequesters as much carbon as 1,000 trees when it dies.
When a whale passes on, its carcass sinks to the ocean floor and locks an average of 33 tons of CO2 into the deep sea for potentially thousands of years.
While it's alive, it does something even more remarkable. Whales feed in deep water and surface to breathe and poop, pumping iron and nitrogen from the deep ocean up to the sunlit surface where phytoplankton need them to grow.
Phytoplankton produce 50% of Earth's oxygen and capture 40% of all CO2 produced globally. Four Amazon rainforests worth of carbon absorption, every year, from organisms you can't see with the naked eye.
A 1% increase in phytoplankton productivity from whale activity alone would be equivalent to planting 2 billion mature trees.
Whale populations are currently at less than a quarter of their pre-whaling numbers. Some species are at 3%.
We didn't just hunt whales. We dismantled a carbon capture system that took millions of years to build.

@Pepper_Rides I have, several times.
Her answer is simply to tell me it's unsafe not how to make it safe, that's my job.

Welp, unfortunately I'm going to be busy dealing with this stupid crap for a while.
I'll holler at y'all later.

Claims that today’s warming is ‘10× faster’ fall apart when you look at actual Earth history.
At the end of the last ice age, sea levels rose over 30 meters in just a few thousand years... far faster than anything observed today.
That’s an Earth system responding rapidly to natural warming.
Today? Sea level rise is measured in millimeters per year.
If anything, the evidence shows modern change is roughly an order of magnitude slower than major past climate transitions… not faster.

Prof. Ryan Katz-Rosene@ryankatzrosene
Dude never mentions that current warming is occurring roughly 10 times faster than the average rate of ice-age-recovery warming. Then says efforts to bring about a just energy transition is “immoral” 🙄

🚨Iran on Wednesday threatened to expand maritime escalation with the United States to include the Gulf states and Yemen, warning it could disrupt shipping in the Arabian Gulf, the Sea of Oman, and the Red Sea if the U.S. naval blockade continues.
Ali Abdollahi, commander of Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters, said the continued U.S. maritime blockade would be considered a violation of the ceasefire, stressing that Iranian armed forces would not allow commercial traffic in the Red Sea if the blockade persists.
He added that “no exports or imports will be allowed in the Gulf and the Sea of Oman” if U.S. measures continue.
He also warned that continued U.S. enforcement of the blockade could amount to a breach of the ceasefire, in a statement reflecting an escalation in Iran’s stance toward recent American actions, alongside signals of possible use of allied forces in Yemen.
