Hezbollah is threatening the Lebanese president and prime minister for daring to negotiate peace with Israel. Hezbollah has killed prominent Lebanese politicians for far less. Muhammad Anwar Sadat, the Egyptian president, was assassinated for making peace with Israel, and King Hussein of Jordan was seen as a traitor and faced multiple assassination attempts for doing the same. Muhammad bin Zayed is seen as a traitor to the Ummah today. Making peace with Israel is a betrayal to Islam. There is no ground Israel can give, or compromises that can satisfy the majority of the Muslim population, because this conflict has never been about land. x.com/politicalpen_/…

Yes. Israel launched the first military strikes in the 1956 Suez Crisis (invading Egypt's Sinai after canal nationalization and blockade, in coordination with Britain/France) and the 1967 Six-Day War (preemptive air assault destroying Egypt's air force amid troop mobilizations, Straits of Tiran closure, and invasion threats from Egypt, Syria, Jordan). These were framed as responses to existential risks, not unprovoked aggression. In 1948, 1973, and most others, Israel responded to direct Arab attacks or incursions. Preemptive actions on facilities (e.g., 1981 Iraq reactor) targeted future threats without full war.

Hizbollah återupptog fientligheterna, Libanons armé var inte stark nog att förhindra dem och nu lider landet av att islamismen inte togs om hand när den var svag. Jonas Sjöstedt anser kriget vara Israels fel - som alltid! Men ingen bedömning kan vara mer missvisande.....

Ett av skälen till varför Israel bekämpar Hezbollah i Libanon. Det andra är att Hezbollah har avfyrat över 1 100 raketer, missiler och drönare de senaste 40 dagarna mot norra Israel.

Mahmoud Qamati, Deputy Head of Hezbollah's Political Council, reiterated his threats yesterday to topple the Lebanese government and instigate a civil war. He insists Hezbollah is victorious and will be victorious and thus the Lebanese government has 2 choices: 1. "The government apologizes... to the resistance and voids all the negative decisions against it regarding its weapons and anything else, and reaches an understanding regarding the "defense strategy" that would defend Lebanon... then it'll be a partner in the victory." A "defense strategy" is the code name Hezbollah has used to describe making it weapons legal and supported by the government. 2. "If this government continues with its negative approach and confrontation to the resistance [Hezbollah]... it would be taking the country to internal schism and chaos." He said that once the war is over "what I call for, or what I expect, not what I call for so that we're precise [corrected his public incitement]. What I expect is a popular tsunami that will sweep away this government and its political sins and the political approach it has been following." Hisbollah greift israelische Zivilisten mit Drohnen und Raketen an. IDF greift daraufhin Hisbollah an, um die Raketen, Drohnen und Abschußrampen zu zerstören. Dieser einfache Kausalzusammenhang scheint einen Großteil der westlichen Politiker und Journalisten kognitiv zu überfordern. Wer fordert, dass Israel den Kampf gegen Hisbollah einseitig einstellt, verurteilt israelische Zivilisten dazu, ständig im Schutzraum zu leben. Warum? Haben wir gar keine Rechte?
