Horrible news with Jai Arrow forced into immediate retirement due to a diagnosis of Motor Neurone Disease (MND)
Motor neurones are nerves that carry signals from the brain to the muscles. When they’re affected those signals break down, leading to progressive muscle weakness.
Because MND progressively affects muscles needed for movement, it makes the physical demands of rugby league impossible to continue safely.
Wishing Jai and his family all the best as he focuses on his health.
BREAKING: Rabbitohs forward Jai Arrow has announced his immediate retirement from the NRL on medical grounds following a diagnosis of Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
🤕 Injury Update: Latrell Mitchell
Rabbitohs centre Latrell Mitchell has ruled himself out of the first State of Origin match for 2026.
Mitchell spoke with NSW Blues Coach Laurie Daley today (Sunday) to let him know that he was not 100% fit due to his back injury, and that he did not want to let his State or his Club down.
Mitchell will not play in round 12 for the Rabbitohs against the Cowboys, with South Sydney having the bye in round 13.
